CODE OF CONDUCT
Applies to all events produced by Texas Card Show and More LLC, including NTX Card Shows, ATX Card Shows, HTX Card Shows, NTX Comic Shows, NTX Toy Shows, NTX Universe, and OK Collects. Last updated September 3, 2026.
The short version. Be good to people. Ask before you touch anything, including a person, a costume, and a slab. Take no for an answer the first time. If something goes wrong, tell us at hello@txcardshows.com or at the box office, and we will handle it that day.
Our shows are built for collectors and fans of every kind, and for a lot of families with young kids. That only works if everybody in the building can walk the floor without being hassled. This code of conduct is how we keep that true, and it is enforced.
Who this applies to
Everyone at our events, with no exceptions: attendees, VIP ticket holders, minors and their guardians, vendors, exhibitors, artists, dealers, breakers, celebrity and creator guests and their handlers, sponsors, press, photographers, contractors, security, volunteers, and our own staff and ownership. Buying a table, signing autographs, or wearing a staff badge does not exempt anyone from this document.
It applies on the show floor, in autograph and panel areas, in queues, in parking lots and loading docks, at host hotels, at official afterparties and trade nights, and in our online spaces.
Harassment
Harassment of any kind is not permitted at our events. Because this is the part that matters most, we keep it in its own document with full definitions, examples, reporting routes, and consequences.
Read the TX Card Shows Harassment Policy. It is part of this code of conduct and carries the same weight.
What we expect
-
Ask first. Before touching a person, a costume, a prop, a wig, a display case, or anybody's cards, comics, or figures. Assume the answer is no until you hear otherwise.
-
Take no for an answer. The first time, without negotiating.
-
Keep the aisles moving. Step out of traffic to look at something, to close a deal, or to have a conversation.
-
Respect the queue. No holding spots for people who are not there, and no cutting.
-
Follow staff and security direction. If a staff member asks you to stop, move, or step aside, do it first and ask why after. Arguing with staff in the moment slows down whatever is happening around you.
-
Watch your kids. Attendees under 13 need to be with a parent or guardian at all times. We are a fun room, but we are not a supervised one.
-
Wear the badge. Badges and wristbands must be visible at all times. They are not transferable, and passing one back to a friend is grounds for removal.
What is not allowed
-
Harassment of any kind, as described in our harassment policy.
-
Theft, shoplifting, or handling merchandise without a vendor's permission.
-
Counterfeit, reproduction, or knowingly altered product sold as genuine. This includes fake slabs, resealed wax, trimmed cards, forged autographs, and bootleg figures. We remove vendors for this permanently.
-
Deceptive selling practices, including bait pricing, misrepresenting condition or authenticity, and pressuring minors into deals.
-
Unauthorized selling. Only booked vendors may sell from a table. Attendees may buy, sell, and trade person to person, but may not set up displays, mats, cases, or signage in aisles, lobbies, or parking lots.
-
Weapons, real or realistic, other than as covered in the props section below. Firearms are subject to venue policy and posted signage, which overrides ours.
-
Illegal drugs, and outside alcohol. Where alcohol is sold, it is sold by the venue to attendees 21 and up, and visible intoxication is grounds for removal.
-
Smoking and vaping anywhere inside the venue.
-
Outside food and drink, except water, medical needs, and baby supplies, unless the venue says otherwise.
-
Pets. Trained service animals are always welcome, and emotional support animals are not service animals under the ADA.
-
Unauthorized flyering, soliciting, or promoting another event on our floor without written permission.
-
Blocking fire exits, aisles, or ADA access. Fire marshal rules are not negotiable and we cannot make an exception for anyone.
Cosplay, costumes, and props
Cosplay is welcome and encouraged at NTX Universe and at our comic and toy shows. A few ground rules.
-
Costumes must be family appropriate. Anything that would be inappropriate in a shopping mall is inappropriate here. Nothing that exposes genitals, buttocks, or nipples, and nothing sheer enough to make that moot.
-
No functional weapons. No firearms, no live-steel blades, no bows with usable strings, no working projectile launchers of any kind, and nothing that can be used to strike a person.
-
Prop weapons must be clearly fake and made of foam, resin, plastic, cardboard, wood, or 3D print. Replica firearms need an orange tip or an obviously non-functional barrel. Props may not be swung, aimed, drawn on people, or brandished in photos, and long props must be carried at your side.
-
Prop check. Staff may inspect any prop at the door and may tag, restrict, or refuse it. Staff decisions on props are final.
-
Keep it walkable. If your build blocks an aisle, a doorway, or your own vision, we may ask you to stage it in a designated area or take it back to your car.
-
No full-face coverage where identity matters. You may be asked to briefly lift a mask for badge and age verification.
-
Nothing wet, powdered, glitter-shedding, or open flame. If it can end up on someone else's cards or comics, it stays home.
-
Hate symbols are not costumes. See the harassment policy.
Photography and video
-
Ask before you shoot a person. Cosplayers are usually thrilled to pose, and they still get to be asked.
-
Step out of the aisle for photos so the floor keeps moving.
-
Do not photograph anyone's private inventory, price sheets, or unopened cases without the vendor's permission.
-
Photography of guests during autograph sessions is governed by that guest's own rules, which we post at the table.
-
No photography in restrooms, changing areas, or nursing spaces, ever.
-
Press and commercial shoots need credentials arranged in advance. Email us.
-
By entering, you agree that we and our media partners may photograph and film the event and use that footage to promote future shows. If you would rather not appear, tell any staff member with a camera and we will respect it.
Accessibility
We want everyone through the door. Service animals are welcome. Attendees who cannot stand in a long line should ask at the box office about queue accommodations, and a companion may hold a place. If you need something we have not thought of, email hello@txcardshows.com before the show and we will work it out.
Transactions between attendees and vendors
We are the venue and the promoter, not a party to your deal. We do not authenticate, appraise, guarantee, or insure anything bought, sold, traded, or graded at our events, and we do not hold funds. That said, if a vendor at our show rips someone off, we want to know. We take vendor conduct reports seriously, we can pull a table, and we can keep that vendor out of every show we run.
Practical advice we would give a friend: examine before you buy, get a receipt, be careful with high-dollar deals in a crowded room, and walk away from anything that feels rushed.
Consequences
Staff may issue a warning, require a separation, confiscate a badge or prop, close a booth, remove a person from the event or the property with no refund, cancel a vendor or guest appearance with no refund of fees, terminate a staff member or volunteer, ban a person from every event we produce across all series and cities, and involve law enforcement where the conduct is criminal.
We are not required to warn first, and severity drives the response. Full detail is in the harassment policy.
Reporting
Email hello@txcardshows.com any time of year, with "URGENT" in the subject if it is happening now. During a show, go to the box office or find any staff member in a TX Card Shows shirt or badge. If your concern involves a staff member, a vendor, or a guest, write "CONFIDENTIAL" in the subject line and it goes straight to ownership. If you are in immediate danger, call 911 or venue security first, then tell us.
Full reporting routes, including what to do if the problem is one of our own people, are in the harassment policy.
This code of conduct is posted year round and may be updated. The version on this page is the current one, and it is the one in force at our events.
