Mickie James is one of the most decorated women in wrestling history. She won the WWE Women's Championship five times, added a WWE Divas Championship, and held the TNA Knockouts World Championship five times, for eleven world title reigns across the two companies. Her 2006 WrestleMania 22 win over Trish Stratus, the payoff to the obsessed-superfan story that made her a star, is still one of the best-told angles the division has ever had.

She has kept making history since. She is the only person to have held both the WWE and the TNA women's world titles, she entered the 2022 Royal Rumble as the reigning Impact Knockouts Champion in a genuinely unprecedented crossover moment, and she won the 2023 NWA Women's title too. In October 2025 she was inducted into the TNA Wrestling Hall of Fame at Bound For Glory.

Outside the ring she is a country recording artist signed to Sony Music, best known for Hardcore Country, and an inductee into the Native American Music Awards Hall of Fame. She also runs her own promotion and has become a mentor to the next wave of women in the business.
