Fergie Jenkins is a Baseball Hall of Famer and one of the most durable pitchers who ever lived. He won 284 games, struck out 3,192 hitters, and threw 49 shutouts, and he remains the only pitcher in history with more than 3,000 strikeouts and fewer than 1,000 walks. He won the National League Cy Young Award in 1971 and put together six straight twenty-win seasons for the Cubs.

Texas fans get to claim him too. He came to the Rangers in 1974 and went 25-12 with 29 complete games, winning American League Comeback Player of the Year and setting the single-season franchise wins record that still stands. He pitched four seasons in Arlington across two stints and is a member of the Texas Rangers Hall of Fame.

Born in Chatham, Ontario, Jenkins became the first Canadian ever elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame when he went in with the class of 1991. He was named to the Order of Canada and has spent decades running his own foundation. He is one of the most gracious signers in the hobby.
