At WrestleMania 23, in front of more than 80,000 people at Ford Field, Bobby Lashley stepped into a match with a hair-versus-hair stipulation hanging over it. He beat Umaga, and then he held Vince McMahon down in the middle of the ring while the chairman of WWE got his head shaved bald. It remains one of the most-watched moments in company history.

He came to wrestling the hard way, as a three-time NAIA national champion at Missouri Valley College and a standout in Army combatives who won at the Armed Forces level. That base made him unlike almost anyone else on a roster. He became a two-time ECW Champion and United States Champion, left to fight professionally and built a 15-2 mixed martial arts record including a run in Bellator, won world championships in TNA, and came back to WWE in 2018 with more to prove. In 2021 he beat The Miz for the WWE Championship and held it into the main event picture, the culmination of a fifteen-year climb.

Along the way he anchored The Hurt Business, one of the most respected factions of the modern era, and then rebuilt it in AEW as The Hurt Syndicate, winning the AEW World Tag Team Championship alongside Shelton Benjamin. They call him The All Mighty, and the résumé backs it up.
